Famous Short Shorts For Homecoming
by Kevin Clifford on 14 Oct 2007

Pair of short shorts, a cowboy hat and running shoes added some flair to this year's Homecoming Parade. The attire belongs to Thomas Lennon who plays the energetically ambiguous Lt. Jim Dangle of the television series "Reno 911!"
"He really has fun playing his character," Jenny Lennon, wife of Thomas Lennon, says as she watches her husband pretends to play the guitar after the Homecoming Parade.
Lennon made attendees of the parade laugh and smile as he struck some comical poses with them in the typical Dangle fashion.
"Most of my family is fine with Thomas's character," Jenny Lennon says. "But I think my niece and nephew are a little embarrassed to have him acting as a gay cop."
Thomas Lennon is not as comical at home as he is on the show.
"He's very good natured at home," Jenny Lennon says. "We enjoy going on biking vacations."
There have been Dangle-like moments at the Lennon home.
"My husband chased someone with a BB gun, yelling and shooting at him because he just stole his bike," Jenny Lennon says. "About 12 cop cars swarmed around Thomas because everyone saw a guy chasing another guy with a gun."
The top four questions that needed answering from Dangle about Reno and "Reno 911!"
TH: What do you think about the real Reno?
Dangle: "It's beautiful in Reno. The people have been really nice to us here. Plus I won $1,700 at the Eldorado so that was great too."
TH: What do you think about the students at UNR?
Dangle: "They're a bunch of sweet kids, but it's still early in the day so that could change later in the day."
TH: How close do you think "Reno 911!" is to the real Reno cops?
Dangle: "I can't comment on the Reno police, but I can say that the cops that I have talked to who have watched our show say it's the most accurate cop show on television. A lot of what cops do is driving around and wrestling with naked people."
TH: What is an aspect of "Reno 911!" you would like to change to make it appear more like Reno?
Dangle: "Removing the palm trees. We know there are no palm trees, but it would cost way too much to remove them."
